"Def" extreme right: With the selector lever in this position air is directed onto windshield to defrost or defog.

Defrosting And Defogging: Slide selector lever to "Def" position and temperature control lever all the way in. Move fan switch to high position. To defog windshield, it is not necessary to wait for the engine temperature to rise.

Rear Window Defogger (Optional): Defogger is operated by a three position switch above the instrument cluster. Air is forced over surface of rear window to clear fog and improve visibility.

Air Contioner

Air Conditioner (Not available with 426ci engine): This factory installed unit combines air conditioning, heating, and defrosting in one efficient year-around system. By keeping the car windows closed; distracting noises, odors, dust, and dirt are reduced allowing for more comfortable and safer driving. Operating controls consist of:

1. Temperature Control Lever: Maintain temperature at any desired level by sliding in and out (maximum heat position is all the way in). Use when operating either Air Conditioner or Heater. Pull out to "off" position when maximum A/C is desired.

2. Control Buttons:

	"Off" - Turns off entire air conditioner and heating system. Fan will not operate when system is off.
	"Max A/C" - Provides maximum air conditioning for fast cool down and cooling under severe conditions.
	"A/C" - System employes fresh outside air for normal cooling. Comfort can be maintained by adjusting fan speed, cooling outlets and temperature control lever.
	"Heat" - When temperature gauge pointer reaches the first mark, press the heat button and move the temperature control lever all the way in. This directs heated air into the passenger area. Comfort is maintained by adjusting the temperature control lever and fan speed. During heating some air is directed onto the windshield to prevent fogging. Make sure the air intake outside the car below the windshield, is free of snow or other obstructions.
	"Def" - To defrost windshield, press in defrost button, slide temperature control lever in and adjust fan switch to high speed. To defog windshield, it is not necessary to wait for the engine temperature to rise.
