Coat Hooks: The plastic hooks located above the rear side windows are convenient for hanging coats or extra clothing. Luggage Compartment: To unlock, turn key with round end to the right and trunk lid will raise part by itself. The lid will lock itself when closed, whether or not the key is in the lock. Always check before closing to be sure keys are not inside compartment. A vacuum release (optional equipment) allows you to unlock the trunk lid from inside the car. A light (dealer installed): illuminates the interior when the lid is raised . Note: Do not drive with the trunk lid open, if only the vent windows are open. There is a possibility that carbon monoxide fumes may be drawn into the car. The partition behind the rear seat is not airtight and could allow exhaust fumes to enter. Ash Tray and Lighter: The ash tray is to the right of the ignition switch. The cover opens by pulling out and down on the handle. Pulling up on the ash tray enables you to remove it for cleaning. Operate the lighter by pushing in the knob, but don't hold it. When heated, it will pop out automatically. Two additional ash trays are built into the rear seat arm rests. Electric Clock: The clock can be reset by pulling out the knob below the clock face and turning it forward or backward until the correct setting is obtained. The clock will regulate itself when reset, only if the correction of setting is greater than five minutes. One setting will regulate approximately 20 seconds in a 24 hour period.
Auto Speed Control (Optional - not available with 426ci engine): The Auto Speed Control provides a new dimension in driving comfort by offering the ease of finger tip speed control coupled with conventional brake and accelerator responce. When engaged, this device takes over the accelerator operation at speeds above 30 mph. The controls are located at the end of the turn signal lever and consist of: a speed set button (A), a resume speed knurled ring (B). To Engage Auto Speed Control: Accelerate to the desired cruising speed. Press in speed set button and the release. Remove foot from accelerator pedal. To Disengage: A soft tap on the brake pedal, or normal brake pressing while slowing car will disengage auto speed control. To resume selected speed, turn knurled ring counter-clockwise and release. Turning ignistion off also turns off the system and neccessitates resetting for selected speed. To Vary the Speed Setting: You can reset the control to any desired speed by accelerating or slowing, to that speed and pressing the set button. When engaged, tapping set button may increase speed setting incrementally. Holding set button depressed allows vehicle to coast to a lower speed setting.
