Assist Starting if Battery is Low(Manual transmission): With a manual transmission you can get an assist start from borrowed battery power (as described on previous page under "Assist Starting Procedures") or by pushing. When pushing make sure the bumpers on both cars align properly. Shift to third or high gear, turn the ignition key to "ON", then depress the clutch pedal and hold it there. When a speed of about 10 mph is reached, press the accelerator pedal and slowly release the clutch pedal and engine should start. Do not get an assist start by having the car towed as it could collide with the tow vehicle when the engine starts. LightsHeadlights: Headlight doors give your new Dodge Charger a clean, unbroken grille line to enhance the front end appearance. These doors open when the headlight switch is pushed all the way in.
If damage renders the system inoperative, the doors may be revolved manually. Caution: Before attempting to lift doors, release vacuum by disconnecting the hoses from the engine compartment to each of two plastic "T" connections (in front and right of the radiator). Open doors, then connect hoses to the battery mounting screws to prevent engine vacuum loss. Reconnect hoses to plastic "T" after system has been repaired.
Headlight doors should be open when washing car to insure clean headlights. Have headlight aim corrected whenever it appears necessary, especially after any damage to the front end of the car.
