The Charger 500 was produced in 1969 for NASCAR. This car was in many aspects different from the normal 1969 Dodge Charger. It had fixed headlights, that came of the Coronet, it had a different rear window, and a lot of options. Though this wasn't enough to win NASCAR races, the 500 was replaced soon by the Charger Daytona.

Features:

2 door sports hardtop.
440ci Magnum V-8 (Standard).
4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shift linkage is standard, a automatic transmission as a no-cost option.
Heavy-duty suspension (Standard).
Heavy-duty brakes (Standard).
Ralleye instrument panel (Standard).
Distinctive, flush-mounted grille with fixed headlights.
"Charger 500" name on the grille.
"500" on the rear-deck plate.
Bumble-bee stripes across rear deck and fenders with "500" in the stripes.
Distinctive rear window and "C" pillar treatment-smoot, aerodynamic flow without tunnel roof effect.
Special chrome-clad "A" post for better air flow.
F70 x 15" red streak fiberglass tires are standard, with white streaks are a no-cost option.
Heavy-duty brakes (11" x 3" front, and 11" x 2 1/2" rear, manually adjustable.
Heavy-duty Torsion-Aire suspension (Standard).
Heavy-duty torsion bars (.92" diameter).
Heavy-duty rear springs (5 1/2 leaf right, 6 leaf left).
Sway bar (.94" diameter).
Shock absorbers (1.0" heavy-duty).
3.54 standard rear axle ratio with a 4-speed manual, includes 9 3/4" Dana Sure-Grip rear axle.
Optional rear axle ratio with 4-speed manual: 4.10 heavy-duty with 9 3/4" Dana Sure-Grip rear axle.
Tachometer (Optional as an extra-cost option).
